Kethoprak

These traditional arts play in Javanese, the native language of Yogyakarta. Ketoprak rely dialogue between characters is preceded by the song of Java. Ketoprak stories varied as historical events, heroic stories, fairy tales or fantasy stories. Costumes worn by the players adjusted to the story. Ketoprak accompanied by gamelan music that is guided by the 'Keprak' hollow wooden box that was hit with a small bat.
